about me
Hello! My name is Rene, I'm 18 years old and I live in France. I’m studying to be a journalist - and this is not just a profession, but a way to be at the center of life, hear hundreds of stories and try to tell them so that they resonate in someone’s heart. And in the evenings, when the city is quiet, I take the hoop and begin to embroider: stitch by stitch, as if I am collecting the silence into a pattern. I’m kind, probably too much, and sometimes too naive — but I want to believe that there is more good in the world than bad. I don’t want to lose this ability to be surprised.
I like to notice little things: how the light falls on old roofs, how someone laughs at someone’s joke in a cafe, how a tiny detail in a shop window makes something special. For me, beauty hides right there, in these small, almost imperceptible things. And I want to write about them so that the reader can see them too.
my dreams
My favorite thing to do is embroider - it's my way of slowing down. I like to choose threads, select shades, think over a pattern: sometimes it’s flowers, sometimes it’s abstract lines, and sometimes I just give my hands free rein. I also love leafing through old magazines and cutting out phrases and pictures from them - then I put them together into collages, as if I were creating my own world. I love walking through flea markets: there are so many stories in every thing - a worn cup, an old postcard, a tattered book. And, of course, I love writing: notes, letters, drafts of articles - anything where you can catch an idea and keep it on paper.
what is beauty?
For me, beauty is not about perfection. This is about sincerity, about the traces of time, about the history that is hidden in the details. It seems to me that the real beauty is in imperfection: in a slight crooked stitch, in a frayed edge, in a wrinkle near the eyes when a person sincerely laughs. Beauty is something that touches the heart, even if you can't explain why. Sometimes it's the smell of fresh bread on the street corner, sometimes it's the silence in the room as you stitch and hear the clock ticking. I believe that beauty is everywhere, you just have to stop and look. And my task as a future journalist is to help people notice it, to remind them that the world is full of amazing little things, you just have to look closely.

my wishlist
I want a vintage hoop with beautiful carvings so that they are a work of art in themselves. There is also a set of silk threads on the list: I like the way the silk fits into the stitch and shimmers in the light. I really want a camera with film - so I can learn to see the world through the lens and capture moments that cannot be repeated. I also dream of a leather notebook with thick paper - for notes, sketches, ideas. And, of course, a book about French fashion and aesthetics - to draw inspiration from the history of style.
